Digital Projection can truly say it is bringing something to CEDIA Expo 2019 that few integrators have ever seen before. The company’s new HIGHlite Satellite Modular Laser System physically separates a projector into two pieces: One that contains the light engine and the bulk of the electronics and another that holds the lens, a chipset and a small amount of electronics.
The result is a 4K projector that makes no noise because the guts of the projector can physically be placed in a completely different room, or in the equipment rack, up to 100 meters away. Meanwhile, the system now allows an integrator to design a system that includes multiple lenses, so a single signal can be distributed to up to three projector lens heads in the home.
“What that does for the end-user is it puts a very small, very quiet black box in the theater, and all the stuff that makes noise and needs to be connected is in a separate area,” says Chuck Collins, vice president of sales for Digital Projection.

“This is truly breathtaking technology, not only because it is separated, but because we are using red, green and blue lasers, so the color imagery will be astounding,” says Collins. “Eventually, a customer could mount up to three heads to that one light source.”
“You can start imaging the possibilities… you could have a projector head on the bedroom, one in the gaming room, and another one in the theater… all from the same light source,” he says.
In Digital Projection’s booth #2543 at CEDIA Expo 2019, the company is also doing something different from past years. Instead of having three separate theaters, the company will have a projector gallery in which three units will be displaying their content side-by-side. The projectors include the company’s popular HIGHlite 4K three-chip unit and its new E-Vision 11000 single-chip projector
