Fibonacci Keypad

Now available for use by Crestron dealers, the newly introduced Basalte Fibonacci keypad provides integrators with a stylish system interface alternative.

Basalte states that its newest product is specifically designed for the North American market. The Fibonacci fits into a standard gang box, and the backlit device includes interchangeable labeling.

Known for its line of iPad mounting products, Basalte is also working a version for Lutron systems. The company estimates the Lutron version of the Fibonacci will be available in 2021.

Elaborating on the functionality of the new keypad, Basalte says the Fibonacci is a touch-sensitive interface that homeowners can control their Crestron lighting systems, as well as shades, music and other home subsystems.

The interface supports multitouch functions too, and Basalte points out the product incorporates an RGB LED that can be used for status feedback. The unit also incorporates a temperature sensor that can be used to report current room temperatures to a Crestron system.

Basalte adds the keypad’s industrial design is inspired by the Golden Ratio, which it notes is an architectural concept that is, “easy to the eye, and it represents natural beauty.”

Additionally the company says, the ratio is derived by the famous row of numbers by the Italian mathematician Fibonacci (Leonardo Bonacci).
