ARC Immersive Audio Active Soundbar

The popular home audio company Sonos has updated its soundbar products through the launch of the ARC immersive audio, active soundbar.

Sonos states the ARC builds upon its home theater hardware and software technologies to deliver clear dialog, deep bass and support for the object-based Dolby Atmos immersive audio format.

The companys’ new soundbar also provides wireless audio capabilities to allow users to play their favorite streaming services, digital music libraries and podcasts.

Sonos points out the ARC will be available on June 10, and it will be offered in a choice of black or white finishes.

Internally, the new soundbar features a total of 11 drivers, including a pair of upward firing drivers to emulate an immersive audio listening experience. Through its software the ARC also adjusts its sound profile based on whether the content is stereo, Dolby Audio 5.1 or Dolby Atmos.

In addition, the soundbar features the company’s latest industry design, which is highlighted by its 270-degree rounded grille.

Other features built into the ARC soundbar include Sonos’ Speech Enhancement to clarify spoken dialog; voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, HDMI eARC, and Apple AirPlay2.
