Summary

When you think of stylish products in the custom electronics industry, the access control category might not come to mind first. Sure, loudspeakers, flat panels and other products are known for their flair, but the folks at DoorBird have emphasized both form and functionality of their IP video door stations.

Thereโ€™s been growing aesthetic demand for smart home technology coming from consumers, designers and architects for some time now, and itโ€™s among the topics Justin Clark, head of sales for U.S./East at DoorBird, addresses in this weekโ€™s CE Pro Podcast episode.

As Clark conveys, DoorBirdโ€™s portfolio caters to the higher end residential market and multitenant (MDU) gate sectors, and as such its range of solutions features both serious security capabilities and stylish industrial design elements and finishes. Thatโ€™s an ideal mix for integrators these days who can show customers that attention to detail starts right at the entryway.

โ€œOur product is a good combination of design as well as technology, and of course weโ€™re all about the integrators and making sure our products work very well with the systems out there,โ€ Clark says.

DoorBird is also working to be more accessible to the custom integrator community, as the German-headquartered company recently opened a Jacksonville, Fla., base of operations for the Eastern U.S. (where Clark is stationed) to complement its San Francisco offices on the West Coast.

โ€œThe whole idea for us opening an office here on the East Coast is so that we can better take care of our customer base out here and grow the territory,โ€ Clark says. โ€œNow we can attend more events on the East Coast, show more support on jobsites, do more in-house training. And itโ€™s not only sales out of this office, but tech support too.โ€

DoorBird Delivers Custom Options Aplenty Aided by Configurator

That included attending the recently staged International Buildersโ€™ Show (IBS), co-located with the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), in Orlando, Fla., in which DoorBird showcased its solutions for various trades including builders, architects, designers and integrators.

โ€œIndividuals have obviously spent a ton of time in their home [over the past two years] and theyโ€™re getting creative, theyโ€™re looking at different custom options to make their property unique,โ€ Clark says.

โ€œWe fit very well in that. So that was a cool story to tell at the show.โ€

Meanwhile, DoorBird has state-of-the-art options like a new fingerprint reader product โ€“ which Clark says is utilized in the companyโ€™s Jacksonville offices โ€“ as well as a powerful configurator tool that enables users to truly cater whatever their needs and demands are for finishes, dimensions, call buttons, keypad engraving, fingerprint readerโ€ฆyou name it.

Hear Clark go into more details about how DoorBirdโ€™s solutions and versatility can help integrators can set themselves apart in the access control category by downloading or watching the entire conversation above.
