Admittedly, the biggest news of the past week was that Kaleidescape is shutting down. We offered a farewell to an industry icon and CE Pro readers joined the discussion in the comments.
But before the news broke, CE Pro released something a little more upbeat and hopeful: the gold winners of the Home of the Year awards.
Winners were chosen based on the high level of innovation, creativity and customization demonstrated in the design and installation of sophisticated systems into these nine stunningly beautiful and brainy homes.
There are a wide variety of homes — all sizes, price ranges, styles and ages — since each winner was chosen in a different category. Winners are recognized in the smart home, home theater, multipurpose, outdoor and unique space. There is also a before and after winner, recognized for the transformation this space went through.
