Back when Dolby introduced its Atmos object-based surround sound format to the residential home theater market one of the handful of speaker companies supporting the launch was Triad Speakers

Now with the popularity of Dolby's Atmos technology growing within the home theater market Triad has announced that it has expanded its line of Atmos-enabled products through the launch of its Bronze Series and Silver Series Dolby Atmos modules.

Triad explains the modules are designed to reproduce the height channels in a Dolby Atmos system, and its made-in-America modules have been developed in accordance with Dolby's standards to direct overhead effects towards ceilings to reflect back towards listeners. The company points out the modules feature upward firing top driver arrays set at an angle to bounce height-channel sound effects off ceilings. The Bronze Series model incorporates four 2-inch drivers, while the Silver Series incorporates four 3-inch drivers, and both the Bronze and Silver Series products are aesthetically to complement Triad's InRoom Bronze and InRoom Silver LCR products.

In addition to their industrial designs that complement Triad's InRoom Bronze and Silver Series LCRs, the Ore.-based speaker company says that dealers can combine the modules with loudspeakers from other manufacturers to create new home theater systems, or they can use the modules to retrofit existing home theaters for turnkey Atmos compatibility.

The 6-ohm InRoom Bronze Dolby Atmos module is 89dB sensitive, and Triad says its frequency response is 180Hz to 20kHz. The 6-ohm InRoom Silver module is also 89dB sensitive, and its frequency response is 130Hz to 20kHz. Triad adds the InRoom Bronze is rated to handle 50 watts to 150 watts of power, and the InRoom Silver is rated to handle 50 watts to 200 watts of power.
