Back during CEDIA 2016 in Dallas, the high-performance video manufacturer SIM2 introduced its HDR SIM2 Dual System to U.S. professional electronics installers.
Now a few months later at ISE 2017, the Italian manufacturer is showcasing its latest line to a global audience in demo room D-401.
Teaming with the video expert Joe Kane, the international video company will hold demonstrations throughout the week. SIM2 explains that its HDR Dual System features two projectors utilizing different optics, firmware and setups to produce a combined image that has a dynamic range of more than 14 f-stops to produce HDR at levels that exceed commercial cinema levels.
“We are very pround of the extraordinary performance of our HDR Projection System,” says Domenico Toffoli, R&D and HDR director, SIM2. “It's the result of many years of continuous research, development and improvements, but we found in Joe Kane, much more than we expected, and thanks to his competence and know how, we are now able to arise to an unprecedented level the performances even better than our best dream.”
SIM2 says the system in 2D mode produces brightness levels as high as 9,000 lumens.
Kane notes that he enjoys working with the company because of its dedication to performance.
“I'm impressed with SIM2's approach to implementing HDR to projection technology, the power of the SIM2 platform, and the wider color capability associated with it,” says Kane. “The direction they are taking is higher in light output than the current implementation of HDR in digital cinema … I worked with SIM2 to put in place my knowledge and scientific approach. The outcome from this intense activity is beyond my best expectations.”
The demonstrations with Joe Kane will be held at these times during the show:
Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:00 P.M.
Friday, Feb.10 at 11:00 A.M.
