Naim Audio is a British audio manufacturer that's distributed in the U.S. by Focal Naim America (formerly Audio Plus Services). Recently the company introduced its new Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation wireless music solution.

The U.K.-based audio company says the Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation features a number of software and hardware upgrades over the previous version of the product.

Like other products in the line, which were introduced back in May, the Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation incorporates the company's proprietary streaming platform that offers Internet radio and a choice of streaming services such as TIDAL and Spotify.

“The launch of Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation brings Naim's award-winning music-streaming platform to more people—and rooms—than ever before,” boasts Charlie Henderson, managing director, Naim Audio

“Its size-defying power and performance make it a superb option on its own, but it's also perfect as part of a multiroom system; [it is] ideal for smaller spaces where the bigger Mu-so, which is increasingly finding a home under the TV as a soundbar, as well as a music system may not fit.”

Mu-so 2nd Gen Features 10 Times the DSP of 1st Gen

Available in the same burnished gray aluminum chassis and same speaker grille design as the company's bigger Mu-so product, Naim Audio says that integrators can add custom touches to the product through optional replacement grilles that are offered in a choice of olive, terracotta or peacock colors.

Internally, the Mu-so 2nd Generation utilizes 300 watts of amplification and new Focal-designed speakers.

The product also employs 10 times the digital signal processing (DSPs) of the first-generation product to deliver higher levels of performance.

The new multiroom wireless, all-in-one audio product is compatible with high-resolution files up to 32-bit/384kHz, and it provides Apple AirPlay 2 for use with Apple products.

Some of the other features of the Mu-so 2nd Generation include Wi-Fi and Ethernet network connectivity, Bluetooth wireless streaming, digital optical inputs for the connection of TVs and other components, and the ability to host USB drives to play music stored on these devices.

Through its features and small footprint, Naim Audio says the product produces big enough sound to fill rooms that range from living rooms to kitchens and bedrooms.

The $899 Roon-ready Mu-so 2nd Generation can be configured to serve as a zone within a multiroom audio system, and via Naim's app, homeowners can browse their music collections by artist, genre, album and more.

At CEDIA Expo 2019 show attendees can find Naim Audio at the Focal Naim America booth (#2132) during the week of Sept. 10-14 in Denver, Colo.
