NAD has upgraded the performance and functionality of its AV receivers with the new T 758 V3 receiver, which is officially available.
A competitively priced receiver coming in at $1,299, the T 758 V3 includes Dolby Atmos object-based surround sound decoding, 4K Ultra HD video compatibility and the company's proprietary BluOS wireless whole-house audio platform.
“NAD carefully evaluates how customers use our products and only includes the features that are essential for great audio and video performance,” notes Greg Stidsen, director of technology and product planning for NAD. “In addition, our Modular Design Construction [MDC] feature offers the real benefits of being able to add new technologies as they become available to greatly enhance the value proposition. With the T 758 V3 we are excited to add key featurs such as Dolby Atmos, 4K UHD and BluOS music streaming.”
It's a common belief among many AV enthusiasts that AV receivers sacrifice sound quality, but NAD says through its “simple is better” design philosophy, it prioritizes audio sound quality above everything else.
According to the company, while many manufacturers focus on video and surround sound, its receivers are designed to sound just as good with music. Beyond the inclusion of popular surround formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS Master Audio, which are decoded via the latest multicore DSPs available on the market, the T 758 V3 utilizes its exclusive EARs surround mode, which converts stereo content into multichannel surround.
On the video side of the AV equation, the T 758 V3 is capable of handling Ultra HD 4K (3840×2160) at 60 frames per second (fps), as well as 4:4:4 chroma subsampling, wide color gamuts (WCGs) and high dynamic range content (HDR).
The receiver also supports a variety of HDMI technologies, including Audio Return Channel (ARC) and Consumer Electronic Control (CEC).
Other features built into the receiver include NAD's MDC platform, which allows integrators to future proof their clients systems through a modular card-cage system that facilitates the upgrade of hardware to keep pace with the latest digital audio and video circuits.
In addition, the T 758 V3 also features NAD's Speaker iQ technology. NAD says the Speaker iQ provides an automation solution that makes it easy to setup surround speakers. Supporting the Speaker iQ function is an included measurement microphone, as well as the inclusion of Dirac Live Room Correction software.
NAD includes the lite version of the Dirac software; for $99 integrators or their clients can upgrade to the full version of Dirac.
