Leading custom integrators iWired and HomeRun Electronics have announced that they have finalized a merger to form what could certainly be considered a mega integrator, with the new moniker of Vangeo Technology Group, LLC.

As Vangeo Technology Group is integrating the existing companies, iWired and HomeRun Electronics will continue to service their existing clientele on a day-to-day basis as wholly owned subsidiaries, according to the announcement.

“The teams that builders and customers are used to interacting with are continuing in their roles as the combining of systems, protocols, and staff are ongoing,” Vangeo Technology Group notes in the announcement.

With combined 2022 sales of more than $30 million across all markets, the new organization will continue to service the technology needs of production and custom homebuilders, homebuyers, businesses, and commercial contractors.

Ranking No. 12 in last year’s CE Pro 100 and among the top of the list for pure-play custom integration firms, iWired, is headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz. The company, which was founded in 2000, operates out of Scottsdale and Denver, Colo., and boasts more than 40,000 projects.

Also established in 2000, HomeRun Electronics has headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo., and similarly serves Rocky Mountains and Western residential and commercial customer bases out of operations in Colorado (Colorado Springs, Denver) and Arizona (Phoenix, Prescott).

As one of the largest custom integrators in the country, Vangeo Technology Group’s 130+ employees will enable it to continue to address areas such as networks, automation, and security, while also allowing for the pursuit of opportunities for new products and verticals that could not have been previously served as individual entities, the company states.

Vangeo Technology Group Guided by Veteran Leadership Team

Johnathan George, who was president of iWired, will move into the role of chief executive officer of Vangeo Technology Group. Prior to iWired, George held positions with Target as a senior buyer and with Deloitte as a senior consultant.

Mike Vann, the founder, president, and CEO of HomeRun Electronics will be chief operating officer of the new entity. Before HomeRun, Vann spent most of his career in managed health care, serving in a variety of high-level financial and operational roles.

Mark Hockenberg, who was chief financial officer of HomeRun Electronics, will remain in his CFO role with Vangeo. Hockenberg began his career in public accounting with Andersen Consulting before holding senior financial management jobs in both for-profit and non-profit organizations.

“As a proud dealer of premier brands, the expanding footprint of Vangeo Technology Group will continue to offer technology options across multiple price categories and solutions,” according to the announcement.

“This merger solidifies Vangeo Technology Group as a leader in our industry, allowing the organization to compete on a regional scale.”

Vangeo adds that by combining the best practices, expertise, and resources of HomeRun Electronics and iWired, it will have access to a broader talent pool, increased financial stability, and a more extensive range of products and services.

“Vangeo Technology Group is committed to providing support, resources, and a smooth transition for all their employees and is excited about the innovation reservoir that this merger brings to the combined companies,” the announcement states.
