Former Marantz President John McCready Passes Away

Former executive of Marantz, Harman, Linksys and Paradigm/Anthem "truly enjoyed his career, his friends and family."

Consumer electronics veteran John McCready passed away yesterday, Nov. 15, 2016 in Chicago. He was 68 years old.

McCready served as president of Marantz America, Inc. from 1996-2005. He also served in marketing and product-development roles at Harman Consumer Group, Linksys and Paradigm Electronics (Anthem).

“His passion and talent for the design of A/V products, painting and photography filled his spare time,” says friend and associate Roberta Lewis. “He truly enjoyed his career, his friends and family.”  

McCready is survived by his wife, Molly Gibson, a consumer electronics marketing consultant; two daughters, Megan Bowermaster and Erin McCready; and three grandchildren: James, Nolan and Bryn Bowermaster.

A private memorial gathering with family and friends in Denver will be announced at a later date.
