Consumer electronics veteran John McCready passed away yesterday, Nov. 15, 2016 in Chicago. He was 68 years old.
McCready served as president of Marantz America, Inc. from 1996-2005. He also served in marketing and product-development roles at Harman Consumer Group, Linksys and Paradigm Electronics (Anthem).
“His passion and talent for the design of A/V products, painting and photography filled his spare time,” says friend and associate Roberta Lewis. “He truly enjoyed his career, his friends and family.”
McCready is survived by his wife, Molly Gibson, a consumer electronics marketing consultant; two daughters, Megan Bowermaster and Erin McCready; and three grandchildren: James, Nolan and Bryn Bowermaster.
A private memorial gathering with family and friends in Denver will be announced at a later date.
