The Hayward, Calif.-based audio company Earthquake Sound has earned a reputation for delivering products that live up to its name. Through products like its powerful amplifiers and subwoofers that produce high power levels and sound pressure levels (SPLs) the diverse manufacturer has been able to help its dealers deliver a variety of home theater and two-channel system installs for more than 30 years.
Adding to its selection of architectural speakers, Earthquake Sound has introduced the new ECS-SS82 in-ceiling loudspeaker. The newest addition to its SweetSpot series provides dealers with the ability to angle the speaker's dispersion towards the listening area to create an enveloping “sweet spot.”
Earthquake explains the speaker's polypropylene woofer can be angled up to 20 degrees, and dealers can also angle the speaker's silk-dome 1-inch Neodymium tweeter. Controlling unwanted sound, the speaker also incorporates R435 echo-dampening material, and “in-depth tonal control center” to further tailor the speaker's sound.
Helping dealers, the ECS-SS82 features the company's Turn-N-Lock installation mechanism, and an edgeless, magnetic paintable grill to allow dealers to blend the speaker into home settings without standing out.
