Last year at CEDIA, TruAudio demo'ed its yet-to-be-released freestanding Select Series of speakers with Dolby Atmos. It was one of the best demos I sat in last year at the show, especially given the power output from these units. The demo room was agog in sound with especially strong bass from the subwoofer. This year, the Utah-based company is demoing the in-wall/in-ceiling versions of the line.
Select Series, TruAudio’s high-end speaker lineup, will make its official live debut at CEDIA this year. It will feature both in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, and will be shown by private demonstrations throughout the show in a suite at the Westin Downtown Dallas.
The speakers are just one of the new product debuts at the show from the company. TruAudio (booth #5342) will also show an 8-inch in-ceiling/in-wall bandpass subwoofer, an 8-inch pendant subwoofer, a 12-inch patio subwoofer, the Forge Vault rack series, and an 8-inch Subterrain outdoor subwoofer packaged with its outdoor landscape speakers.
TruAudio’s sister company, VSSL, will also have active demos of its new A.3 and A.6 systems at CEDIA. VSSL is the world’s first (patent-pending) multi-channel audio distribution system with Google Cast, Spotify and Apple Airplay.

The new BeatDrop subwoofer, created to complement the BeatDrop pendant speakers introduced earlier this year, will provide seamless integration and sound with an existing pendant speaker system. The 8-inch subwoofer comes with the option of either 70V or 8 ohms, and is designed to hang with the same Gripple-brand tool-less hanging kits for fast and easy mounting. It adds extra low end to commercial areas such as sports arenas, restaurants, bars, stores, convention centers, lofts and shopping malls.
The 8-inch in-ceiling/in-wall bandpass subwoofer looks like a simple toe kick from the exterior, but its compact-form factor fits easily in hard-to-maneuver spaces. The bandpass subwoofer gives numerous options for placement, including the ability to fit between two joists. The subwoofer can be installed inside a ceiling, floor, wall, entertainment center, closet or just about any spot with space where low-end audio is needed.
The 12-inch patio subwoofer was designed to work in areas where a SubTerrain is not ideal. It is designed to be durable, waterproof, and to blend into the environment whether it be a patio, deck, or yard. During CEDIA, TruAudio will be holding a “cast your vote” contest to help determine the standard color it will be using on the subwoofers.
TruAudio's Luxury Outdoor Systems is introducing the new 8-inch SubTerrain package, an entry-level outdoor sound solution. Any 2-channel amplifier will power the 8-inch SubTerrain and up to eight Acoustiscape speakers, using only a four-conductor speaker wire.
The Forge Vault Rack Series brings some of the best features of company's Core, Stealth, and Thin Line Series together into a single, versatile rack. It will be replacing their previous Forge models. It features a 1,000 lb. weight limit, providing the ability to include all systems within the rack, regardless of weight. It has an integrated cooling unit at the top of the rack which provides plenty of air movement. The Vault was designed to have a simple assembly, by shipping in just two boxes and having the option to remove the side panels after installation. It has improved wire management, with plenty of punch-outs and space for wires.
