Integrators can’t afford to have customers live in fear that some lightning strike or power spike might fry the thousands of dollars’ worth (or perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars) of AV gear inside their home theater. Nor would they want those great products under-performing because they’re being driven by subpar power.
That thinking was exemplified when the Erskine Group designed the killer home theater, installed by Heartwood Custom Interior Finishes, at the new CEDIA headquarters in Fishers, Ind. And at CEDIA Expo 2019 in Denver, integrators can see first-hand at the Torus Power booth (#2533) at the Colorado Convention Center the mean machine that’s providing the lifeblood for products like the Barco Loki projector, Trinnov Audio Altitude32 AV preamp, Procella loudspeakers, Stewart Filmscreen masking projection screen and more.

If a Torus All-in-One (AIO) Series wall-mount power isolation unit can handle that job, that should be a stamp of approval for powering and protecting plenty of other high-end home theaters on your docket.
“We’re going to be showing an All-in-One panel, which is a large toroidal, isolation-based electrical panel that can run an entire theater or large media room,” says Torus Power president Kevin Main.
“This was the same unit that we recently installed with Dennis Erskine at the new CEDIA HQ theater. We want to focus on showing the integrator how our products are different, and how that benefits them in these larger installations because it does make a big difference,” he says.
A Whole Different Kind of AVR
Along with the All-in-One, Main’s excited to show and educate CEDIA Expo booth visitors on the company’s new AVR technology in products like its AVR Elite Series Toroidal Isolation Power Transformer – and as he points out, for Torus AVR doesn’t stand for audio/video receiver but automatic voltage regulation.
“This is one of our key features on a lot of our units, where it’s maintaining the correct output voltage for the equipment regardless of what’s happening with the fluctuations on the input side,” Main explains.
“The new AVR technology features a new 32-bit microprocessor, and a lot of new features for the integrators to use.”
Think cloud-based controls, real-time data on things like voltage in/out, distortion on the voltage line, etc., and reporting that can be used for recurring revenue as integrators monitor their AV installs. Talk about power!
