Best Buy announces a new haul-away service for home electronics. Anyone in the U.S. can now request an at-home pickup of old technology for the service to recycle for them.
The Best Buy Standalone Haul-Away service will remove and recycle up to two large products (including TVs, major appliances, all-in-one computers and monitors). as well as some laptops, cameras, cords, gaming consoles, and more for a price of $199.99.

“We feel we have an important role to play in helping our planet, including being there for the entire lifecycle of a product – from the time a customer starts shopping until that product is responsibly recycled,” said Tim Dunn, Best Buy’s head of environmental sustainability, in a company press release.
“This new service will make this important work even more convenient for customers.”
Best Buy’s Technology Recycling Efforts
According to the release, Best Buy has helped customers recycle over 2 billion pounds of home electronics and appliances since 2009. The company’s recycling program accepts a variety of electronics regardless of age or point-of-sale.

This new, on-demand haul-away service is in addition to Best Buy’s existing offer to customers who purchase new TVs, appliances, or fitness equipment and want to recycle what they replace.
Best Buy’s program also allows customers to drop off up to three electronics per household, per day at retail stores, or trade-in their old electronics for credit towards new products.
