Integration Industry Mourns Passing of Mattie Lillard

The 38-year-old Mattie Lillard was beloved and made an impact on the channel working for companies such as RTI, Copeland, Snap One, and Tech USA.

Mattie Elaine Lillard, 38, of Charlotte, N.C., passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Born August 18, 1986, in Fredericksburg, Va., she was a cherished member of the AV community, known for her warmth, dedication, and passion for empowering women in technology.

Lillard made significant contributions to the custom integration industry through her work at RTI, Copeland, Snap One, and Tech USA, holding certifications including Automation Programmer (Control4) and Josh.ai.

Her genuine care extended far beyond her professional accomplishments. She loved her family, friends, and fur babies deeply — especially her cherished dogs, Livy and Leo.

Always ready for adventure, Lillard found joy hiking in the woods, losing herself in a good book, and enjoying peaceful moments at the beach. She fiercely stood by those she loved and was unwavering in her beliefs.

Mattie Lillard Leaves Lasting Legacy on Custom Industry

Mattie Lillard is survived by her loving parents, Rob and Terry Lillard; sisters Eve Carroll (Bill) and Christian Birdsall; brothers Seth Lillard and Jacob Lillard (Maria); and many nieces and nephews.

She was a strong, beautiful soul who leaves behind a legacy of friendship, mentorship, and kindness, and she will be profoundly missed.

It’s also noted in the obituary that Lillard was devout in her religious beliefs, and “The family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace in [Christ’s] loving arms now.

“With broken hearts, the family asks for your continued prayer as we navigate these next days. Mattie was a strong, beautiful soul who will be sorely missed.”
