Supporting the premise of the aforementioned CE Pro story, AV Nation‘s weekly podcast, ResiWeek took on the topic of why the gaming category is experiencing slowing sales based on a report posted by CE Pro. CE Pro senior editor Bob Archer, along with Avi Rosenthal of Bluesalve were asked by podcast host Matt Scott about the latest trends shaping home gaming.
Some of the other topics that were discussed during the podcast include a Residential Systems story written by Matt Bernath of VITAL on how best practices for integrators to manage their accounting.
Moving onto the podcast’s final topic Scott, Rosenthal and Archer examined the growing popularity of facial recognition technology. Scott points out that while not a new technology, facial recognition is growing increasingly sophisticated as it matures. Now with more manufacturers adopting these technologies the question becomes whether facial technology is maturing too quickly and is it violating the public’s privacy rights?
In talking about facial recognition the podcast examines what exactly professional integrators need to know about these technologies before offering their clients security systems that incorporate these trendy features.
