Maybe Amazon isn't the solution for everyone after all. Certainly not for MartinLogan, which announced a complete reset in the way it does business on the Internet. As a first step, the company will be dissolving its direct partnership with Amazon.com and other online retailers.

MartinLogan will move forward with a limited number of customer-centric online retail partners chosen based on their reputation in the industry, consultative web-based sales/service methods, brick and mortar retail presence, and historical dedication to the MartinLogan brand.

Allan Tarrant, vice president of sales – North America, says, “Our focus on brick-and-mortar retail dealers with experienced associates has always ensured customers get an incredible buying experience. We feel it’s time to improve that experience online, while further supporting our traditional retail partners.”

MartinLogan’s new online retail partners will be officially announced in late September.

The company has been making handcrafted high-performance speakers since 1983 featuring electrostatic and other thin-film technologies. Located in Lawrence, Kansas, MartinLogan's in-house design and engineering team creates each speaker. MartinLogan’s sister companies are Paradigm and Anthem.

While known for electrostatic speakers, MartinLogan jumped into the wireless audio category with the debut of three soundbars, two speakers, an amplifier, and a pre-amplifier under the product names Motion Vision X, Crescendo X, Cadence, Verse, Bravado, Forte, and Unison.

It also announced a full slate of outdoor audio speakers dubbed the Outdoor Living all-weather speaker system, which consists of the Outdoor Sat 40 and Outdoor Sat 60 satellite speakers featuring 4-inch and 6-inch woofers, 0.75-inch tweeters, and switchable input including 8-Ohm, 70 Volt, and 100 Volt options; the Dynamo Outdoor Sub 100 and Dynamo Outdoor Sub 120 subterranean subwoofers featuring 10-inch and 12-inch woofers, working in 8 Ohms; and mounting accessories include a ground stake, surface mount bracket and burial conduit junction.
